Ahh, the clown cake. I realize that I have great difficulty keep my tip straight up and down and as a result, my clown looks a little drunk. HA. My cake is kind of a mish mash of all the different techniques we learned last night – of course the clown, two different types of drop flowers, dots, and the shell border (oh and writing, since we learned that last week but I didn’t use it on last week’s cake). I wish I had more of a creative mind – the cakes that a couple of women made were just beautiful! I’ll have to work on that. Or just buy a book of ideas π

Looks great! Your clown is so cute! π
DEFINITELY a drunk clown! BUT I LOVE IT! You’re doing so good. I CANNOT wait to see my birthday cake!
LOVE YOU
HAHA – i keep looking back at the picture. It’s so cute!
I don’t know why you’re complaining about your flowers, these look great!
And I wouldn’t worry too much about the clown. They freak me out anyway.
Awesome cake! I love the pastel colors. Makes your clown look less menacing. I am not a clown person. haha. Purdy flowers. Keep on caking!
Don’t worry about being too creative right now Chelle. I would just recommend to get down the techniques and then creativity comes naturally after you learn more things. I was definitely not very creative at the beginning, but it gets easier the longer you do it! Great job on your piping though!
From now on, if I have a clown on a cake, I demand that he/she look drunk!
Love the flowers and piping. You are doing great!! π
Haha Rachel – my sister asked me to make a cake for her birthday in 2 weeks and she said she wants a drunk clown on it π I have some ideas floating around hehe.
Nice drop flowers. I hate the things. They are supposed to be so easy but I never like the way mine look. The creative ideas will come as you gain skills and confidence!
I think your clown looks great! We didnt have to do the clown on night 3 – we did cupcakes instead. Your shell border is lovely and even! Can’t wait to see your night 4 cake
That looks great Chelly! Your dot’s are perfect and I love the drop flowers!
Drunk clowns are cool. Your cake is adorable
I love your drop flowers. It something I haven’t learned in my cake classes yet, maybe I can get a wilton book and teach myself… hmm
Chelle, the cake looks GREAT! I love the clown…and your shell border looks PERFECT. You are doing a great job.
Great job!
Great job! Your clown looks awesome (mine never quite materialized… I really should take the class again!) Looks great! Hopefully you’ll put some of those skills to work with TWD!
[…] make (and decorate, of course) a cake for her birthday. Of course I said yes! Then she saw the drunk clown cake and demanded that a drunk clown grace the top of her cake. Haha, okay, of course that can be done! […]
love the drunk clown!! π
